Llama Out Loud! (Llama Out Loud)
Annabelle Sami, Allen Fatimaharan
Sidesplitting middle grade comedy, with serious heart (and one very funny llama). Illustrated by Allen Fatimaharan, the official illustrator for World Book Day 2022.
Shortlisted for the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize Winner of a Made for Mums Gold Award Yasmin Shah is a ten-year-old girl who is part of a big, noisy family and doesn’t ever speak. Levi is a rude, sassy toy llama, who talks A LOT and has come to wreak havoc in Yasmin’s life. Yasmin tries everything she can to escape Levi, but she can’t help being dragged along on his crazy antics – and every day brings a new surprise, whether that’s an erupting bin, a flying tuna fish, or a hat made from knickers. Life is never boring with Levi around – and could it be that he has a secret plan to help Yasmin find her voice? Annabelle Sami is a writer, director and performer who currently works in the arts. While reading children’s books when babysitting she realised there was a lack of representation of funny girls and diverse characters in children’s books – and she decided to do something about it. Growing up mixed-race, she never found her own life reflected in a book and now it’s her mission to make sure that every spirited, witty and adventurous girl has her own special book that she can relate to.Reviews

I loved this book and enjoy learning about the main character Yasmin shah even though in the book she was shy she was a brilliant character. In this fiction book there is also a llama called Levi and all he does is make Yasmin cross. However, in the end they become great friends and Yasmin took Levi everywhere she went.

If you like mischief, drama and mayhem read this amazing book. Yasmin Shah is a student that doesn't speak and her life is turned upside down by a talking toy llama.

I thought the book was good, I would not like a llama like levi in my life because he would be too noisy. The book could be inspirational to people who are quiet.

This book is super funny! A funny bit is where the llama came all the way back to Yasmin's house, even when she had taken it away as she was trying to get rid of it.

I thought this book was really good because it made me laugh. It was funny when the llama shouted it's "llama time". My favourite character was the llama because he was really exciting to see how he could get out of lots of trouble. I would recommend this book to Ellie because she likes really funny books.
