A look at animals and plants from the point of view of their amazing scientific adaptations.

Join bestselling author Steve Mould to uncover nature’s greatest scientists, engineers, and mathematicians from plants that can count to architect insects. If you thought all scientists wear white coats and work in labs, think again!

Meet amazing engineers, such as the spiders who build immense webs from different kinds of silk; funky physicists, like the bats that can see with sound; and surprising chemists, such as the corpse flower that smells like smelly socks to attract insects to pollinate it! The science behind each genius adaptation is explained clearly in Steve Mould’s trademark humorous style and you’ll be amazed by nature’s solutions to some of the world’s trickiest problems.

Wild Scientists is a brilliant introduction to some of nature’s cleverest animals and plants. You’ll never look at nature the same way again!

This fabulous non fiction has really been teaching me all about animals, thanks to Steve Mould. It had lots of facts about animals, and what they do and what they make and all of those things about them. The book was full of creative colours as well. I would really recommend this colourful book to anyone over seven, because Steve has used his great imagination to create such a informational book.

I like it because it tells me about animals and plants especially when it tells me about the bat and how they use echos to make up a picture around them

This factual book interested me by telling how different species of animals survive from being the prey and how they protect themselves. The most interesting part about this book was when the Peacock Mantis Shrimp had punched crustaceans in order to get their food. I would recommend this book to animal and plant lovers keen to read how individual animals defend themselves.

I liked it because I love nature and it's super cool. If nature was gone and bees died then everything would die. So we love nature, always.

This book tells us about how animals use things like chemistry, electricity, mathematics and other things to survive in the wild.
