It is a bit of a deep read, yet enjoyable all the way as you follow the journey of two refugee brothers. Be ready for mixed emotions.

An amazing book with ups and many downfalls of a character. Exciting and creates an emphasis on the tough life in Africa in war. And with amazing illustrations this book is truly one of a kind!

I think this was was a really good book - It was brimming with emotion and thoughts, and I found it impossible to put down! I recommend it to any one who wants a thought- provoking summer read! My favourite character was Nimo - I thought she was such a good friend to Maryam, and all the other kids in the camp. 5 stars!!

I really loved reading this book : Omar and his younger brother, Hassan, have spent most of their lives in Dadaab, a refugee camp in Kenya. Life is hard there: never enough food, achingly dull, and without access to the medical care Omar knows his nonverbal brother needs. So when Omar has the opportunity to go to school, he knows it might be a chance to change their future . . . but it would also mean leaving his brother, the only family member he has left, every day.

Very sad story

I liked Omar the best because he is more protective. It was factual and it interested me because it was about refugees that needed a home. It taught me more about refugees. I would recommend it to other people because they have homes and need to know about these refugee kids that need a home and food.

I would recommend this book to all the children in the world because it was an exciting story. My favourite character was Hassan because he was caring for people even though he only said one word (hooya).

I thought that this book was very interesting because it taught me about how hard life can be for refugees. When I had finished this spectacular comic book, I couldn't believe that it was a true story! My favorite character was Omar mainly because he was kind, smart and responsible. I would definitely recommend this book to someone else.
