I quite liked this book. It hasn't been my favorite but still rather good. My favorite character is Gafferty as she is daring and brave. I would recommend it to anyone who likes adventure stories.

I was prepared to be disappointed. All I saw at a first glance was a rip-off of The Borrowers but I was very pleasantly surprised. The similarities with the aforementioned little people begin and end with size and scavenging. This tale is more fantastical, adventurous and bang up to date than The Borrowers. It is also rather well written, accessible to a Year 4 but with an atypical sprinkling of interesting vocabulary to test and develop their reading skills and comprehension. It would make a great read aloud for Year 2/3. Praise must also go to Seb Burnett for the excellent illustrations.
