Deep in the forest, magic is waiting . . . Sparkling with frost and magic, Shadows of Winterspell will sweep you up in a world of friendship and magic, to uncover family secrets and find out who you really are. Stella has been living behind the magic of the forest for most of her life. Lonely, she enrolls at the local school, and as she begins to make friends, she discovers that she is even more different than she thought. But as autumn turns to magical winter, Stella realizes that uncovering her own family secret is the only way to release the forest from the grip of a dark and old magic. A wintery magical adventure from the critically-acclaimed Amy Wilson, author of A Girl Called Owl.

I loved the book because of how it portrays such magic. My favourite character is Zara because of how she puts herself in such danger for her friends even though she isn't fae.

I liked Stella the best because I think she's really cool and this book is really good because I like how she saved winterspell. I also liked Peg and Teacake and I definitely would recommend this book to anyone.

This was such a good book! I really liked the magic and mystery in it but it wasn't so tense that it was scary. I liked how there was relatable everyday life mixed in with magic in the book. I really enjoyed reading this book and I loved all the magical creatures and characters in the book- and the non-magical ones too!!!!! I would definitely recommend

It is fascinating and adventurous as you get introduced to new characters and get more information as the story moves on. As I read I thought that I was in the story and experiencing the adventures and situations the characters had. If you mean a human Zara because she is such a nice, kind person but is very good at picking up untold things. If a creature I would say Peg, he is an imp and is very cautious with living things (well really anything ) and is protective, bossy and truthful to his known ones in the end. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves magic and an adventure because this book is full of it. In terms of age I’d say 7-14…

Amazing! A thrilling adventure book following the life of Stella, a girl who is a little lost in life. When she starts school and makes some friends, then some secrets are revealed... I would recommend this to kids between 7 and 13. It takes a spot on my favourite shelf :)

I thought it was an exciting read and one of the best books I have ever read. The story was interesting because it was full of magic and mystery right up until the end. My favourite character was Zara because sometimes she was fierce to Stella out but also kind when she needed to give Stella confidence. The Stag was also known as the shadow king to try and find Stella but he didn't realise his other shadows were attacking Winterspell when he was locked in a palace. I would definitely recommend this book!
