‘The boy’s an absolute menace.’
’He’s a bully. A lost cause!’
‘Why can’t he be more like his sister?’

’I’ve been getting into trouble for as long I can remember. Usually I don’t mind – some of my best, most brilliant ideas have come from sitting in detention. But recently it feels like no one believes me about anything – even when I’m telling the truth! Everyone thinks I’m just a bully. They don’t believe I could be a hero. But I’m going to prove them all wrong…’

Meet Hector: a bully whose dastardly antics spiral out of control when, after school one day, he decides to bully a homeless man in the local park.

But as London’s most famous statues and emblems go missing and its homeless communities are pointed to as the thieves, has Hector managed to pick on the leader of them all? And if so, what can he do in a world that won’t believe a word he says?

Written in lockdown when – for the first time in history – London’s homeless community were gifted shelter, The Night Bus Hero explores themes of bullying and homelessness, and the potential everyone has to change for the good.

it was so funny that when I was trying to go to sleep , I burst out laughing and couldn't stop. I would recommend it to an nine-year old person.

This book was very good and quite funny as well. It had the important moral to not be a bully and the story was very heartwarming. My favourite character was Mei Li because she was a wonderful person and she was so kind to all the homeless people

This was such a good book and I would recommend it to anyone between the ages of 9-13. It could be suitable for younger children but should be read before giving it to them as it covers complicated themes of homelessness and bullying. However, it tackles these issues really well and presents them in a very child friendly way. My favourite character was Thomas as from the start I had so many questions about him. His story really helped me empathise with how homeless people feel. I always thought "Why don't homeless people just go to a homeless shelter?" but this book showed me how they may be more comfortable with how they are living on the streets than to interact with people again after becoming homeless from an upsetting or traumatic experience. e.g. for Thomas this was the car crash. The end is a happy one though so do not be too worried about the outcome of the book! Raúf really is an exceptional writer and this is one of her amazing books she has written.

In this book, the main character managed to solve the mystery of the missing statues/monuments. Along the way, he learns to be kinder to people. I recommend this book to people who like mystery stories

I really liked it and it's really nice. Its about this man, no one knows him and he's homeless, but he become famous and everything. He has a really cool little bus with a shower so other people without homes can feel fresh and happy too.

I found this book really good and enjoyed how it had information about bullies, how to tell someone and homeless people, how to help. It had the homeless code on the back and each chapter had one of the symbols.

I find Onjali Q. Rauf's books amazing! They really inspire you! All her books have a moral and they teach you about everyone being equal. This book is about a bully who accuses a homeless person of commiting a massive theft! Read this book and find out what happens with this accusation! It is an amazing book! I would definitly recommend it! 5***** definitly from me!

A really enjoyable book, filled with kindness and adventure. It is equally as good if not better than the authors other book 'The Boy at the Back of the Class'. My favourite character was Thomas because he was kind and he was involved in more adventure. I would recommend this book to others aged 9- 13.

I love this book because Hector is really naughty and then there is a pattern from naughty to sad. At the very start of the book the first word is Hector. Hector is always in detention because he always in to trouble. His two friends are: Kaite and Will. his brother is Hercules and his sister is Helen . His mom and dad doesn't like him.

this is a very suspenseful book. The main point of the book is that you can learn to change yourself like Hector did to change himself from a bully to a very nice person. People kept judged Hector by his actions and they thought he will not be able to change himself but he did. Also the mystery about the artifacts being stolen was very cool.

thus is a great mystery gook where the boy try’s to find the culprit will meeting new friends especially homeless people and you find out more about them. I have got a special secret too! If you look in the last few pages of the book you would find lots of facts about homeless people.

What's not to like about a good adventure book? This book was fiction and my favourite character would be Mei - Li because even though Hector and his friends harass Thomas and mess with his stuff she still forgives him and helps him.
