Fire in the Star: The Unicorn Quest 3
Kamilla Benko
Claire Martinson has always depended on her older sister, Sophie, to take care of her, but now it’s Claire’s turn to protect her sister. On the trail of the last unicorn, Claire sets off on her own to make things right in Arden – the magical land she and her sister discovered when they climbed their great-aunt’s chimney. But there are terrible forces working against her.
Queen Estelle has returned, and she will not stop until she has taken revenge on all those who have opposed her. Claire, Sophie, and their friends must convince Arden’s four guilds of magic to set aside the past if they are to have any hope of a future. Because if the queen has her way, Claire and Sophie will never return home and the unicorns of Arden will be lost … forever. The thrilling third book in the series for fans of Cornelia Funke, Abi Elphinstone or The Chronicles of Narnia.
Reviews
The main character - Claire - has had a big adventure through Arden. Her sister - Sophie - is gradually turning into a unicorn, in which Claire has to find a cure for. However, Queen Estelle had come back to seize ultimate power. This book has a big twist, which I didn't expect to happen. My favourite character is Queen Estelle as she, 'has a change of heart' I would recommend this book to any age as it takes you on a dangerous journey, riveting you into it. This book created magical pictures in my mind, helping me along the way.

I thought this book was really good! It really made me feel like I was traverling with Clair (main character) as she went on her Journey. It was sad at the end because... Well I can't tell you otherwise it would give it all away! I liked Sophie, Clair and Lyric the best because they all had a nice character and helped each other out on the journey. I recommend this book to anyone who likes unicorns! It is super interesting and leaves on cliffhangers at the end of each story (this is book 3). I also recommend that you read the first 2 books before you read this one because otherwise, it will be confusing.

The Unicorn Quest: Fire in the Star is an adventure story by the author Kamilla Benko. The Unicorn Quest is part of a series of three books. I would rate it 4 out of 5 stars because although I enjoyed so much, and I like the style of writing, it has a lot going on and there so many people and so many different places, so it's a bit hard to follow. This book is about a girl called Claire. She is a guild called a Gemmer, (There are also Spinners, Forgers and Tillers.) and, three hundred years ago, the Gemmers almost hunted unicorns to extinction and now they are a rare and special sight to Arden. But Queen Estelle d' Astora has returned to Arden, and she attempts to destroy the heart of the last unicorn. Only the mixed magic of four guilds can get together to collect the tines, complete the crown of Arden, crown a new queen and defeat Estelle before all is lost. But, however, Claire's sister Sophie has an illness, and she is turning into a unicorn. But Sophie still has magic, and can she open the seams of the world and unleash more unicorns before it's too late? Or even though only a queen can defeat a queen, then does Claire still have to crown another queen can Estelle defeat herself... I would recommend this book to all the other unicorn-lovers like me out there, but be warned - it is a bit tricky to follow. I like Claire best because she just keeps persevering, even when the going gets tough.

Tis book is full of adventure, magic and imagination. My favourite character is Gryphin the Chimera because he was funny and made of copper!!! I would definately recommend it to people who are bored and need something exciting.
