In a land of elves, mermaids and trolls, true magic is where you least expect it…

In the snow-covered city of Londra, young Tabetha survives by finding treasures in the mudbanks of the river Themse. On Christmas Eve, a sinister stranger asks her to keep her eyes open for a priceless, long-lost magical object: the Glass of Lead and Gold.

As word of the Glass spreads across the city, Tabetha finds herself with some unlikely companions, not least a one-armed girl and a rather impressive soup chef. But will Tabetha discover that there are even greater fortunes to be found than the magical Glass?

Ok, let’s get started. This book was not for me because it didn’t have an interesting or imaginative storyline - girl’s mother dies when young; girl lives on her own homeless; finds an important piece of glass; glass then gets stolen; glass breaks when stolen! This is not original or imaginative in the SLIGHTEST! I am disappointed in this book, apart from the change of places such as London to Londra and the river Thames to the river themes, there is NO imagination in here! Yes, there may be mythical creatures living among them, but where’s the diversity?!! All of the mythical creatures are bad and steal things, could you PLEASE be more imaginative?! Maybe have a mix of what they do?! Apart from all this, it was an interesting book, but with a disappointing ending.
