There's a Rang-Tan in My Bedroom
James Sellick, Frann Preston-Gannon
A stunning picture book about one little girl and her orangutan friend, based on the Greenpeace film that became a viral sensation.
When a little girl discovers a mischievous orangutan on the loose in her bedroom, she can’t understand why it keeps shouting OOO! at her shampoo and her chocolate. But when Rang-tan explains that there are humans running wild in her rainforest, burning down trees so they can grow palm oil to put in products, the little girl knows what she has to do: help save the orangutans!
Published in collaboration with Greenpeace, featuring a foreword from Dame Emma Thompson and brought to life by award-winning illustrator Frann Preston-Gannon, this is a very special picture book with a vital message to share.Extra pages at the back include information about orangutans and palm oil plus exciting ideas about how young readers can make a difference.

I loved the facts and it’s really good that the story is based in the environment an orang-utan would be in. They make it very cheery.

is a bit sad. we do need to stop the killing nature thing. the girl let the rang tan stay because of what she had heard. i do really hope they just grow a tree. and then cut it down and leave the stump as some seats. how hard would that be for those buiders?!?

The rang-tan book was very moving, especially when rang-tan explains why she's in her bedroom. Great how the book includes ways we can help. Would recommend.

I liked this book a lot. The story is about a rang-tan and how people are burning the forest where it lives. It made me a bit sad because the rang-tan wants to go home but he can't because it's dangerous.
Officer Wanda Waterfall 28.08.2021

Rang Tan is really cute and this book taught me about what is happening to the rainforest.
Captain Venus Mystery 20.08.2020

It was good, I liked it. I liked hearing the facts about the orangutan. I learnt to try not to eat palm oil stuff or use much of it, or try and use good palm oil. I might put up a poster and write a letter to the palm oil companies, to tell the palm oil companies to stop cutting down the rainforests.
Senor Sketch Volcano 04.08.2020

This one made us a bit sad that the bad people took the monkeys trees.
