This is a thrill-ride of an adventure, with illustrations by Ben Mantle bringing Boot’s world to life. Fans of Toy Story and Charlie Changes into a Chicken will love this hilarious, warm-hearted story about a small robot on a big adventure, full of fun, friendship and a warehouse full of bouncy castles.

‘Fast, funny and furious. These are definitely my favourite robots.’ Eoin Colfer

Toy robot Boot has come a long way since it woke up in a scrapyard with only two and a half glitchy memories. It has a home with its robot pals in an abandoned amusement arcade, and has discovered what true happiness is – although it’s still not sure why humans are so leaky and weird … But when Boot and the gang stumble upon Rusty, an old, broken robot, forgotten in the back of a testing lab, it’s time to spring into action. Boot knows there’s something special about Rusty – but can they free the old robot and help it find its purpose?

Illustrated throughout in glorious black and white by the award-winning Ben Mantle, this is an unforgettable tale of resilience and hope.

Read more of Boot’s adventures – shortlisted for the Sainsbury’s Book Award – including Boot: small robot: BIG adventure and The Creaky Creatures.

It is a fiction. I like Boot the best because he is kind and loving. It interested me because it told me how a little bit of kindness and trouble can make such a difference in people's lives.

this is one of my favorite books since it is about robots who were discarded by their owners, only to be replaced by new, smarter ones.According to me, my favorite character was Boot. He would not give up on anyone, always looking after others and providing support to his friends, even when times were hard. I reccomend this book to those who love robots.

Boot: The Rusty Rescue is another charming story by Shane Hegarty and Ben Mantle, all about Boot and all of his robot friends at their home at Dr Twitchy's Emporium of Amusements. If you have not read the first book, Boot, Noke, Red, and Gerry are all robots who are broken or who do not work well in some way - or the were rejected by their past owners. When they found themselves lost, broken and rejected, they started to become smart and began to feel the same emotions as humans do. This is the second adventure of these amazing, friendly robots... All the trouble started when Gerry's nose fell off. And to get Gerry a proper robot nose, the team of friends had to go to the Testing Lab, a ginormous building where robots who had a mistake made in their bodies when being built go to test objects over and over again, doing the same boring tests. But when they find a robot who can feel things like them, Boot knows he cannot leave it behind... And how could readers forget the glorious, brilliant illustrations by Ben Mantle which popped up throughout the book? These illustrations capture the emotions of all the robots (especially Noke!) perfectly, and help the reader to picture all of the amazing things which happened in the story-line. Overall, this series has become one of my favourite series of fictional books, and these are definitely my favourite robots! Enjoy Reading!
