The Dog Who Lost His Bark
Eoin Colfer, P.J. Lynch
A warm, uplifting story for young readers about a boy and his dog and the power of music to heal; a first-time collaboration from two Irish Children’s Laureates.
Patrick has been desperate for a dog of his own for a long as he can remember – and this summer, with his father away, he longs for a buddy more than ever.
In his short doggy life, Oz has suffered at the hands of BAD PEOPLE. Somewhere out there, he believes, is an AWESOME BOY – his BOY. Maybe when they find each other he will learn to BARK again…

I really liked that Patrick made him bark again by playing music, he howled along to it. I would recommend this book to my friends.

Beautifully written. You really feel what it must be like has Oz. You also really feel for Patrick coping with his changing life. Their relationship is beautiful.

Oz (The dog) lost his back when he lost trust in people. Patrick became his friend, they did everything together, and Oz learnt to bark again, because he trusted Patrick. Oz loved music, he learnt to bark/howl a song. The book made me cry at times, but I loved the story. My animal loving friends would love this book.

This was good as it was about a dog who couldn’t bark. Good story.

I think it was an amazing book. It was very related to me because I love dogs and I hate seeing them being mistreated. I recommend it to everyone because we should be aware of nasty people around who abuse dogs. I obviously didn't like the people who abused the dogs, and the only other people in the story were a boy and his mum who rescued the dog, so they are my favourite characters.

It's about a dog called Oz who isn't treated very well at the start. A nice family find him at a rescue centre and help him find his bark again.

This book was so cute and made me smile a lot. At some points it made me want to talk to the dog and tell him that he will be alright. Eoin Colfer is an amazing author.
