The Accidental Rock Star
Tom McLaughlin (, Exeter, UK)
It should never have happened, but somehow-with the aid of a recorder, keyboard, and very disturbed cat-Hector and Ollie have made a hit single. And now everybody wants a piece of them. They may have always dreamed of fame, but is life on tour all it’s cracked up to be?
Follow a rollercoaster of rock star antics in this hilarious new story from Tom McLaughlin.

a hilarious laugh out loud comedy which also sends a strong message-really recommend for ages 7-12. I listened to it in the playaway format but it is also enjoyable either way.

It shows you have to tell the truth even if you don’t want to.

i really enjoyed this book because it goes through 2 boys (Hector and Ollie) who want to be rock stars so they film themselves singing a song. Ollies sister Hannah invites NIgel the cat in and thats when the trouble starts and their video goes viral. i really enjoyed this book and i would recommend this book to people who like comedy and adventure books.

I liked the fact that a pet cat called Nigel messed up te song but it became famous. People liked it so much because it was rubbish.
Madam Candyfloss Heronimus 14.07.2020

It was really funny when Hector went berserk when he ate too many cherry pops and sweets. I didn’t like it that they had really big fights all the time.

the accidental rockstar was a fiction book about two kids called Ollie and Hector and they record themselves playing music in a duo they made and their cat, Nigel stomps over the keyboard and Ollie shouts cat attack! and then their sister, Hannah uploads it to youtube and it goes viral within minutes of it being posted then, a person called Doris says that she can arrange gigs and tours for them and Hector agrees. Then, Hannah and mum (as she is called in the book) join the band and it was named THE TWERPZZZ then they go on a world tour and Hector said at the last location "YOU'VE BEEN THE TWERPZZZ wait I mean that the other way round.." it's a book full of jokes and laughter
