Can Danny untangle the mystery of the animal escapade – and find out where he really belongs – in order to clear his name? The second novel from Jane Kerr, author of critically acclaimed The Elephant Thief, set in the same world but standalone. I thought that this book was really good and I was stupefied when the book said that a HUGE majority of the events that happened were real. It also raised a lot of awareness for me when it came to captive animals. Did you know that the LAST EVER Quagga died in captivity in 1883 and the same for the Tasmanian emu except it died in 1873. It's so sad that two entire species went extinct thanks to humans. And so many other animals were wiped out forever. And what do we do to honour their memory? We kill more animals, of course. Typical humans. I really enjoyed this and would recommend this book to all 8+ animal lovers. I would also recommend this to people who like twists and turns in their stories. I really hope that there is a third book in the series where Danny/Edward finds out more about his past and heritage.
