Join young investigator and shield maiden Alva as she goes a-viking around the medieval world in search of adventure!
Alva clings to her sleeping wolf as the Viking longship pitches and rolls over the North Sea’s crashing waves. Soon she will reveal herself as a secret stowaway, but only when there’s no chance of turning back. This is her opportunity to put her shield maiden spirit to the test – exploring strange new lands, solving mysteries, and most importantly finding her father . . .

The wolf was my favourite because it helped the main character so much.

This is the sequel to Riddle of the Runes. Will Alva find her dad, or will she just find war and another mystery to investigate. Alva is a Viking Shield Maiden and investigator, like her Uncle Magnus. It is very good. I would recommend it to people who like stories about brave girls.

This book is full of adventure and action! I would recommend this book because it’s about a girl,Alva and her tame wolf, Fenefir (don’t know how to spell it! XD) try and find her father, Who went away ages ago, as stowaways on her Uncle Magnus’s boat. Alva is very determined not to show her self until it’s to late to turn back, Alva is very determined and brave ,as she gets a sleeping spell and potion to make her wolf sleep for the journey as he hates the sea from her least favourite woman in her hometown! When she gets discovered it really puts her shield-maiden to the test.....When she gets near England where her uncle’s boat and other boats were going a storm hits. Will they survive the storm and will Alva find her father? Read it please

This book started off sad but I really liked it when Alva was visiting Queen Aethelflaed because the feast was exciting. I liked Fenrir because he sounded fluffy and sweet and playful. I liked learning about Vikings.
