While riding the subway home with his Nana one day, Julian notices three women spectacularly dressed up. Their hair billows in brilliant hues, their dresses end in fishtails, and their joy fills the train carriage. When Julian gets home, daydreaming of the magic he's seen, all he can think about is dressing up just like the ladies and making his own fabulous mermaid costume. But what will Nana think about the mess he makes - and even more importantly - what will she think about how Julian sees himself?

This book is a bout a boy who wants to become a mermaid. The boy’s name is Julian. His nanny took Julian to a wonderful place full of mermaids,fishes and lobsters. Julian and his nanny joined them.I like this book because I also like mermaids.

I like this book, because i like the way how Julian dressed up like a mermaid. And also, no matter you are a boy or a girl, you do just whatever you want to do, and pursue what you want to achieve.

I liked the book because I like mermaids. My favourite character was the mermaid Julian. I enjoyed the part about the mermaid festival. I would recommend it to others.

There wasn’t much to read but the pictures told the story as well. Anyone can be a mermaid if they want to.
