Everdark: World Book Day 2019

Smudge doesn’t know what she wants to be. In the Unmapped Kingdoms , the only option is to either be a sunraider or a sunsmith. But she doesn’t want to be any of those, she wants to be an explorer and explore the the rest of the kingdoms. When the expected rising of the Phoenix doesn't happen, it’s up to Smudge and her monkey, Bartholomew, to save the kingdoms and the faraway.

I liked the character Bartholomew the white nosed monkey because he was funny and over the story became a loyal friend to Smudge a young girl who sailed across the seas and found a lost sailer who was said to have drowned.

I loved how Smudge was a bit odd, but she was the one who saved the Unmapped Kingdoms from Morg and I love Bartholomew as he's just really funny, but serious. I'd recommend it to adventure lovers and people who like to get lost in a book.

I thought it was a good and interesting book but it was a bit scary so only for ages 8 and up. I liked Bartholomew the monkey best, because he was clever and if there was a problem he would help out.
