The third book in the bestselling series from the brilliantly talented Liz Pichon. Back to school, but it’s not all bad. Sports Day, the school fair and Tom’s birthday are all coming up. In this book Tom Gates and his best mate Derek, enter Derek's dog Rooster into a local dg show, where the dog wins. His granny Mavis wants to cook for his birthday (her cooking is very unusual) but to Tom Gates's surprise and relief, she doesn't! And more amazing things (sort of).
Corporal Poseidon Bottlenose 06.09.2024

Loved it!
King Viktor Spaghetti-Hoops 05.09.2024

This one is much bigger, but not as good as some of the other books.

I liked how there were lots of different scenes in this book. I loved when they entered Tom’s friend’s dog Brewster into a dog show just like we did with our dog. It was really fun at the end when Marcus Meldrew forgot his dancing clothes and then Tom leant him a t-shirt that had a special pen that if you stand under light it shows the writing to trick him.

The book was good, silly and funny. Granny Mavis’s cooking is unusual and Tom Gates doesn’t like it.

This was another great book in the series. It was very funny with lots of doodles. I loved reading about Toms birthday party. I’m so glad my nanny’s cooking is better than Toms grandmas. I would recommend all these books to my friends.
