The third book in the bestselling series from the brilliantly talented Liz Pichon. Back to school, but it’s not all bad. Sports Day, the school fair and Tom’s birthday are all coming up. And even better, his awful big sister Delia won’t be at any of those events! On the downside, Granny Mavis is threatening to make his birthday cake – uh oh! But on the other hand, Mr Keen has asked Dogzombies to perform in front of the whole school! YEAH! Maybe they can even play at the school disco too. How can the term turn out any less than seriously amazing?   ABOUT THE SERIES: Written in diary form Full of Tom’s doodles and pictures & his amazing sense of humour The Brilliant World of Tom Gates, was the winner of the Roald Dahl Funny Prize! Perfect gifts for boys & girls who love to laugh themselves silly The first series of The Brilliant World of Tom Gates won the Scottish BAFTA for Entertainment! Love Tom Gates? Don’t miss Liz Pichon’s spectacular Shoe Wars, a laugh-out-loud, gadget-packed adventure!

I would definitely recommend this book to a friend. I liked Tom, Derek and Amy the most. My favourite part was when Tom had his party.

I thought this book was very amusing and funny because I liked that his birthday list had pets but instead of a bunny, dog or cat, he got some fake little animals. I thought that was super funny!

I liked the bit with the disco where they played the Dude3 song and Marcus kept bumping into people. It was excellent. My favourite character was Tom.

It was a really nice about the character Tom and his friends Derek and Norman. I agree that Amy is really smart and so is Florence and Julia. And Marcus Meldrew is really annoying. I would recommend this book to readers that like silly, funny, enjoyable books.

In this book Tom Gates and his best mate Derek, enter Derek's dog Rooster into a local dg show, where the dog wins. His granny Mavis wants to cook for his birthday (her cooking is very unusual) but to Tom Gates's surprise and relief, she doesn't! And more amazing things (sort of).

This one is much bigger, but not as good as some of the other books.

I liked how there were lots of different scenes in this book. I loved when they entered Tom’s friend’s dog Brewster into a dog show just like we did with our dog. It was really fun at the end when Marcus Meldrew forgot his dancing clothes and then Tom leant him a t-shirt that had a special pen that if you stand under light it shows the writing to trick him.
