Mr Penguin and the Catastrophic Cruise: Book 3
Alex T. Smith
From the internationally bestselling creator of Claude comes a hero like no other: Mr Penguin. Indiana Jones meets Hercule Poirot in this series from Alex T. Smith, ideal for 7+ readers of Dave Pigeon.
Mr Penguin is boarding a luxury cruise ship. He doesn’t like water, and he can’t swim, but his friend Colin is performing with the Ladies Choir on board – and anyway, Mr Penguin feels like a rest after some busy Adventuring. What’s more, fish finger sandwiches are apparently available twenty-four hours a day. Heaven!
But despite the glamorous film stars and party atmosphere, Mr Penguin can’t help but feel that something shifty is happening on board. And when he befriends a young stowaway with a mystery of her own to solve, he soon finds that Adventures are lying in wait after all …
This is the third Mr Penguin book with plenty of slapstick humour, mystery and adventure.
Highly illustrated throughout with a striking black and orange design.

This was longer than books 1 and 2. I think it's surreal that no-one questions creatures and animals going on a cruise!
Lord Arthur Gravy 24.08.2023
I liked that this was a mystery and I didn't know what was going to happen. Every time the Seven Sisters sung there was a bumping noise which was mysterious. Instead of it being about a boy it was about a girl called Marina.

I enjoyed this book and found it quite funny in parts. My favourite character was Colin, the spider I liked the way that because he can't speak he had a notepad and pen to communicate. It made me laugh. I loved that Gordon the pigeon saved the day. It was a fiction book, which is part of series. I would definitely recommend it.

I like the book, because I like how there are lots of strange things happening in the cruise ship, and Mr Penguin doesn't know which one to think about first. And I also like it because Mr Penguin is really scared of boats and the beginning, but then he enjoys himself. I also like it because at the end of one of the chapters Mr Penguin has a very big shock and I think the reader does as well.
