One stormy night, a group of villagers are struck by lightning. The only survivor is a baby - Mary Anning. Ignoring other people's taunts, Mary faces danger to bring back valuable treasures to help feed her family. Mary must depend upon her unique courage and knowledge to fulfil her dream of becoming a scientist in a time when girls have no opportunities for such ambitions.
I thought it was a fantastic recreation of Mary Anning's life .It was quite a sad book. She made her fortune by collecting curiosities as she called them and discovered animal fossils and found dinosaurs bones. She was very poor and lived in Lyme Regis with her Mum, Joseph, Dad until he died and many babies which sadly died. This book is for people who are adventurous.

It is the diary of Mary Anning (the famous fossil hunter) as she was growing up and discovering the wonders of the prehistoric world. For ages 9plus.

I enjoyed this book.It was interesting because it was about a girl who really wanted to be a scientist but didn't get the fame she really deserved. I would definitely recommend this book to someone else.
