I enjoyed how the book integrated fact with a tiny bit of fiction. Some of the ' twists and turns ' were a bit obvious though, but aside from that, I would 100% recommend this to anyone that likes slightly altered events that have already happened.

I like this book because of all the amenities and snakestones and how they are described. My favourite character is Mary because her favourite things are her hammer and her first snakestone.

I liked the way that the book was based on true facts. The main character was Mary Anning. My favourite character was Elizabeth Philpott because she was kind to Mary and treated her as if she wasn’t the poor girl that she was.

I love this book because it explains what life is like for Mary as a poor girl in the past. The description is very vivid and we can imagine being there. Sometimes it isn't very nice!

Ever heard of Mary Annings, the girl who found great fossils. Well, this book is the story of life. Mary was the girl who, when she was small, survived a lightning. Some people say because of the lightning she is such a persistent girl. But she was already persistent and unique. She used to love finding fossils with her father on the Jurrasic Coast, but tragedy and despair is never away. She had all the difficulties of life, yet she never gave up. Just because she was of low cast and she was a girl, the people never gave her oppurtunities. What she sold could be worth millions, yet she got just 25 pounds. She found the greatest fossil, the Ichthyosaur and she arranged all the bones. Day and night she would spend her time on the Ichythyosaur. Still people never gave her the credit. But she still thought, "Who else can uncover these but me Lightning Mary." This book is the most inspiring book I have ever read. Every line shows the impossible happen and the difficulty of Mary. The main people in The book and Mary's life are- Mary, Henry, Mary's father, mary's brother, Joseph and Mary's mother. I Love this book a lot and it is a must read for all girls. The life of mary anning was the most Unique one I have ever read. This is the last and the best book I have ever read in the space chase challenge and I would want to recommend this book to all the fans of inspiring books and all the extreme fossil lovers.

I thought it was a fantastic recreation of Mary Anning's life .It was quite a sad book. She made her fortune by collecting curiosities as she called them and discovered animal fossils and found dinosaurs bones. She was very poor and lived in Lyme Regis with her Mum, Joseph, Dad until he died and many babies which sadly died. This book is for people who are adventurous.

It is the diary of Mary Anning (the famous fossil hunter) as she was growing up and discovering the wonders of the prehistoric world. For ages 9plus.

I enjoyed this book.It was interesting because it was about a girl who really wanted to be a scientist but didn't get the fame she really deserved. I would definitely recommend this book to someone else.

a wonderful book, young Mary Anning searches for fossils with her father on Black Ven but when her father dies life must continue. Can Mary and her brother sell their specimens and will their baby brother survive the winter?
