Enormous fun, madcap and relatable’ – The Bookseller

The brilliantly funny third SAM WU book – the bravest scaredy-cat in the world! Perfect for reluctant readers and fans of Pamela Butchart. Sam Wu is NOT afraid of anything. Except for quite a lot of things. Like ghosts. Sharks too. And also THE DARK! And so when Sam goes camping in the woods with his friends and cousin Stanley, who knows what scary kind of things they’ll face …? Sam Wu is NOT Afraid of the Dark is the third book in this brilliantly funny and accessible new series – perfect for newly confident readers, fans of Pamela Butchart and Julian Gough’s Rabbit and Bear. This book is fiction and my favourite character is Sam Wu. About this book: Sam went camping with his cousin, his friend Bernard and Bernard's dad... I would recommend this book to others because it is exciting!

This was a good book. Sam gets into all kinds of trouble and poured water on a person and a dog because he thought they were a monster. This made me smile and I liked that!

I liked Sam Wu. They went camping and he tries to pretend he isn't afraid of anything. They thought there were aliens and they all get scared. The darkness separates them and their parent's campfire. A man with a dog shows them that the aliens were actually a meteor shower coming. I think my friends would like this book.

Sam Wu finds himself in trouble when his cousin visits him from Hong Kong and they plan camping. I liked the bit where they heroically clear up their doubts about a strange figure in the dark. I would recommend this book.

It teaches you to work together if you're afraid. Just ask a friend if you need help or if you're in trouble.

I really like how two characters were enemies but they came together to stop the imaginary monsters.

In this book I quite liked the fact that Sam Wu kept saying he wasn't afraid of the dark when he actually was. I also liked the fact that he thought a dog was a massive werewolf. What I didn't like about it was that Sam kept on going into the other tents for no reason.
