Mo Appleby's ordered life is turned upside down when he and his mum move in with his new stepdad and stepsisters, Lottie and Sadie. The home he left behind is just across the street, and there's something not quite right about the new occupant. Other strange new people keep popping into his life, too: a bonkers lollipop man and a boy called Jax, who seems to understand Mo better than anyone else, especially Lottie. Who are the weird new people in their town? Do they have any involvement in the disappearance of Mo's dad many years ago? And why does the ice cream taste so good? Lottie is determined to find out exactly what's going on, even if it makes Mo mad, and even if it leads them both into serious danger...

I loved this book! It was so interesting and fun. When i started this book, i couldn't stop! My favourite character is Lottie because she is very adventurous,strong and likes to work things out!

This is one amazing book. It includes mystery, adventure and a whole lot of clues. The main character of the book is a ten year old boy named mo and a ten year old girl called Lottie who became siblings after Mo's mum and Lottie's dad came together as one family. Lottie has a little sister whose name is Sadie. Sadie is a little theif who can get her hands on any thing and speaks one language and one language only , cattish as she believes her mum will one day come back for her and only then would she start to speak proper English. With out her alot of the things in the story would not have happened. More important characters are Mr Gideon who has the best ice cream in the whole world Lottie even decides to eat the delicious ice cream filled with Kandy after a splash of sweat landed on it. Yuck! , Lorliel ,and Jax who befriends Mo and Lottie. Also the crossing guard hector who has a little secret of his own. If you want to find out what it is READ THE BOOK, I promise you won't be disappointed. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone as it is absolutely metal and amazing at the same time

I though that this book was really good! I liked that it kept changing between the different characters views because you can tell what they all think of the situation they are in. My favourite character was Lottie because she was so easy to like and had great girl power views and hairstyles. I would 99% recommend this book.

This book is great, there is lots of detecting in it. It is about when Mo and Lottie try to find out who is a junker (junkers are people who are evil). Do they figure out everything about junkers and tell it to the world... Or end up in the junkyard? (the junkyard is unknown place as nobody has gone there and come back). This book was factual because it had thrills all the way through the book (from start to finish). I would recommend this book to children who are 6+ and those who love mystery books.

This book was very interesting and had lots of mystery's inside it. This book was basically about boy called Mo and a girl called Lottie and they see these mysterious people that move into Mo's old house. So one day they secretly go into the house from the cat flap and when they go into Mo's old room they see some models with wigs on them and they get frightened. Then on the night of Haloween their mum falls down the stairs and has to go hospital so the two of them need to go to the house across them. Mo and Lottie really don't want to go but their dad forces them. When they get there, their younger sister Sadi was already there. Then those people try and capture mlMo and Lottie but they escape and they were safe in the end. I would recommend this book to people who like mystery and adventure
