I would recommend this book for young readers, because it would help them develop confidence in reading. This book is quite funny and my favourite character is Cutlass, because he really is a true friend to Patch and would willingly help for nothing in return, unlike Monty. So I would actually tell teachers that teach younger years to read this book to their children. They'll love it! It's a really good story and there are too many bits to laugh at! Read it!

My favourite character was Patch(the pirate cat) and Monty(the cheeky monkey).`Monty was so naughty that he pushed her into the quicksand. The best part was definitely when Patch and Cutglass(the parrot)worked out that the treasure was cursed and tried to stop there crew from getting to it.

I really liked this book because the captain tried really hard to get the treasure and the baddies got punished. It was exciting and it made me laugh. Lots of the names in the book were funny.
