Double the trouble! An original novel by Michael Rosen, told alongside the Dickens classic that inspired it: Oliver Twist. Shona and her dad are moving house, and at Shona’s new school, the rules are pretty confusing; she keeps getting into trouble without realizing! It’s a lot like how it is for Oliver Twist, that boy she’s reading about in English class. After Shona is unexpectedly given a mobile phone, she begins to suspect there’s something fishy about the new boys she’s met. Where did the phone come from? And some gifts, she soon learns, aren’t exactly free… Read two stories at once – both illustrated by Tony Ross.

I love how Michael Rosen has put two stories into one. I like how it has funny bits, puzzling bits and happy bits.

I liked this book. It’s very interesting and has some very important life lessons. It’s quite confusing but still interesting. I also learnt about Oliver Twist.

This is a really good book as it involves normal school kids who are reading the brilliant book of Oliver Twist.Their teacher is Miss Cavani. Also, there is a new girl called Shona and you can find out about her life. I would recommend tis book to everyone who is in The Silly Squad.

Unexpected twist was a fantastic book I borrowed from school. Not only does it have an eye catching cover, this book has an amazing climax. If your a fan of old classical stories and Michael Rosen, this is your book. It has a mixture of Oliver twist and an all new story. I recommend this book to anyone 7 or older

I liked Desol’e because she was helping Shona with her homework and she was helping her with her troubles about pops.I liked it because it tells you about Oliver Twist and Shona finding a phone and doing jobs for other people and she has to move into a flat because they had no money and Shona thinks that she killed her mum because she died in birth.I would recommend this book to 10year olds because Oliver Twist is for older children.
