An exciting school trip goes horribly wrong in this thrilling adventure from master storyteller Malorie Blackman.

Although Sam has a long-term illness, all he wants is the chance to lead a normal life. So he is thrilled when he finally gets his mum and dad to let him go on the school trip to the Scottish Highlands. Sam’s desperate for an adventure and wants to prove to everyone that he’s just as strong as his friends. But when some of the boys from his class take a reckless risk in order to win a challenge, the trip turns out to be more dangerous than Sam could have imagined. Particularly suitable for struggling, reluctant or dyslexic readers aged 8+.

I would only recommend only this book for people who find reading hard because it’s a short book also the letters are big so it would be an easy read.My favourite character was Sam because it was his first time going on a school trip and no one believed in him much.

This book is about a boy called Sam. Sam has a long-term illness which makes him have to be more careful that all the other boys in his class. Sam just wants to live a normal life like all other kids. One day, Sam's teacher announces that they will be going on a trip to the Scottish Highlands. Sam asks his parents if he can go or not. Thinking that they would say no, he gave up all hope. But to his surprise, his parents said yes. Elated, Sam goes to the trip. Sam's desperate to go on an adventure and prove to all of his friends and family that he isn't as weak or as vulnerable as everyone says he is. He wants to prove that he is just as strong as his friends. During the trip, Sam was having a great time when suddenly, a group of boys from his class decide to take a reckless risk in order to win a challenge, the trip turns out more dangerous than Sam could have ever imagined. I found this book ok. I would recommend this book to someone else.

It was very good and I think that Sam was very brave to jump in and save Brandon even though Brandon is his worst enemy! Sam is a boy with SCD and just wants to be normal. Then he goes on a wild school trip to the Scottish Highlands Sam sees how school trips are really like. MAD!

This book is about a boy called Sam who has a long-term illness, he's longing to be normal. So he was over the moon when his mum and dad allowed him to go on a school trip to the Scottish Highlands. Sam is a lonely boy and wants to make friends and wants to prove to the other boys that he can do whatever they do. Things take a turn for the worst when some of the boys take daring risk. I found this book very sad and it's made me very grateful for what I have and able to do.

This book was short but was very fun to read. Sam is a boy with SCD (Sickle-Cell Disease) and he wants a normal life. His parents do not let him do anything as it may lead to him in hospital. As of that, Sam is delighted when his parents allow him to go on a school trip to the Scottish Highlands. The school trip turns out to be more dangerous than expected.
