Bel feels apprehensive about spending the lead-up to Christmas with her grandma at Lamont House, a sheltered housing complex converted from a grand Victorian home. The mansion is beautiful, but eerie, too with its moving shadows and odd noises. One night, Bel is sure she sees a cat wandering across the grounds, even though there are no pets allowed. She follows its footprints through the snow and is transported into the past. Here, she discovers Charlotte, a Victorian girl her own age. Charlotte’s little sister, Sara, is very ill. Charlotte has been searching for Sara’s cat, Snow. She hopes the reunion with her pet might make Sara better. Bel is desperate to help find Snow, but the cat is nowhere to be found, and time is running out.

Holly Web takes us back to Victorian times where the main character Bel travels back in time after following a mysterious white cat. The relationships that develop are heart warming but also a bit sad because the two girls live in different times and Bel is left torn between the past and present.

This is a good book for 8 years to 10 years. It is amazing to build my vocabulary, and I can express myself like facial expression words and other vocabularies. I love cat stories so much, and they are my favourite pet. I would recommend this fantastic book by Holly Webb as a great story to clutch to, and you wouldn't want to drop the book at all.

I enjoyed this book. There is a cat and a kitten, they are both boys, their names are Snow and Snowball! They are both really cute and as white as snow! Bel dreams of having a cat or a kitten and her wish comes true! Bel meets Charlotte and Lucy. They own Snow. Lucy is ill with influenza and to make matters worse Snow disappears! Bel wants to find Snow but can she... I would recommend this book to people who love cats and kittens!

This book is about a fluffy white cat named Snow. A girl named Charlotte comes from the past and tells the main character, Isabella, that the cat belongs to her sick sister, Lucy. One day, Snow the Cat disappears. Can Isabella find the Snow Cat and can Lucy recover? I would recommend this to cat-lovers and children who like Christmas adventures or books about moving into old-fashioned houses.
