I found this book harder to enjoy after the last book, but still a good extension to the Famous Five series.

It is so adventurous and feels like a adventure because 4 [four] children Philip, Dinah, Lucy-Ann and Jack and his parrot Kiki go to an other island called the Isle of gloom and they live on a island called Craggy Tops. They use Philips and Dinah's uncles boat , but before that , they met somebody called Bill Smugs. Bill Smugs showed how to handle a boat until they were ready. On the way, Jack thought he saw a Great Auk so he and Philip went to the Isle of Gloom . Before that, jack snatched a map because he saw a ring of rocks and saw a tall hill that will remind where the gap in the rocks are. The girls could'nt come because they needed to take care of Aunt Polly. When Jack and Philip landed safely , Jack searched for a Great Auk , but it turned out it was a Razor Bill. As Jack was discovering more he found 2 [two] shafts one [1] with a ladder and one [1] with old food cans. Are they going to take the girls under the earth and sea ? ,or are Jack and Philip going to go on their own ? . To get this info [information] go and read the ... Island of Adventure !

This book was really interesting because every single time something new and exiting came . My favourite characters were Philip , Dinah ,Jack and Lucy-Ann . Jack and Philip were fourteen while Dinah and Lucy-Ann were twelve . I also really liked Bill Smugs which he turned out to be a cop . It was really scary at the end of the book . So they find this place called the Isle of Gloom and the children think that people work down there and find mines . They also thought that those miners were giving signals for food and then Bill gave signals back and gave them food . Turns out that Bill is a cop and those people are not miners . There is is character Joe and he is an odd job man and he is very mean . So he was the person giving them food . Those people were actually making fake notes so they could buy things and people would not know . This was a really bad crime to do . They also found these secret passages under the sea one that goes to the Isle of Gloom and another to the secret compartment of fake money . I would recommend this book to people who like chapter books .

My favourite character was Kiki because she said something funny when they needed cheering up. I loved it at the start when the boy thought he was an actual old man. I would recomend this everyone. I loved this book so much.

My mum got this for me from the library, but when we started reading it, I really liked it! If was fun to meet Philip, Jack Dinah and Lucy-Anne, and Kiki the parrot. A lot of times when we were reading, I would pretend to be there with them enjoying all the adventures! I really liked Kiki because she was always saying funny things, and it was even funnier when she said things that actually made sense! I'm glad there are more books in this series and I'm looking forward to reading them all!

I thought that the book was amazing. My favourite character was Jack because he was funny and brave. I would definitely recommend this book somebody else because it was full of mystery and suspense but the blurb doesn’t say much but hidden away behind its cover there is old copper mines a fake money scheme and a new police friend.So if you like the sound of that give it a go yourself.

I love this adventure series because I imagine myself as one of the children and I would love to have adventures like them! My favourite bit of this story is where they found the secret passage in the well.
