Ghosts of the Shadow Market 1: Son of the Dawn
Cassandra Clare
The Lightwoods, the Shadowhunters who run the New York Institute, are expecting a new addition to their family: the orphaned son of their father’s friend, Jace Wayland. Alec and Isabelle aren’t too sure they want a new brother, and their parents are not assuaging their fears, too occupied with the dark news that Raphael Santiago, second-in-command of the New York vampire clan, has brought from the Shadow Market.
Praise for the The Mortal Instruments Series:
“This fast-paced fantastic thriller will keep readers on the edge of their seats.”
— VOYA
“New York is the city that never sleeps — but evil spirits, angels, warlocks, faeries and shadowhunters don’t need much rest anyway. The city is home to Cassandra Clare’s young-adult debut novel, a cool, pleasingly dark and spicy urban fantasy called City of Bones.”
— Kirkus Reviews
“A smart, funny, romantic read.”
— Cosmo Girl
Reviews

I really enjoyed reading this book because we didn't really know much about when Jace was first adopted by the Lightwoods and this just teaches us more about when Jace was a kid. My favorite character is Jace because he's so funny and such and amazing Shadowhunter. I would definitely recommend this book to someone else but only after reading all of Cassandra Clare's other books or else the person wouldn't even understand the book and wouldn't enjoy it at all.
