My favourite character was the one that became poor then rich. His name was Chin. He gave food, clothes and money to the poor villagers. He had nothing. The monk gave him magic gifts because he was not selfish and greedy.

I thought this was really good because only one person dies in this book. It also teaches you a lesson. If you are rich and if you see or you have someone in your family who is very very poor you shouldn't want to be poor because they went somewhere and became rich very very rich.

It was good because the chopsticks and the spoon and the straw carpet was magical and the little boy called Chin shared all his money out.
