Ruby Redfort is just an ordinary thirteen year old - except for the fact she's an ace code breaker and child genius. After she's solved her first case and is an official member of Spectrum, (a super-secret spy agency) she's sent to train in their swim unit, learning from top agent Kekoa. She will have to use these new skills she's taught in an adventure to find lost rubies before the rubies (and Ruby) are found and she's killed by pirates (or a colossal octopus,The Sea Whisperer) and thwart the evil Count Von Viscount's plan to steal them. An amazing thriller. I couldn't put it down! My favourite character was Ruby because she's funny, smart and really cool. I would recommend this to readers aged 9 to 13.

One of my favorites. Includes chills and thrills, action/adventure, stolen treasure,pirates,sea monsters,codes and cool stuff.Once you open the book and start reading , you just can't stop!!

Amazing book! This book's theme is the ocean and Ruby is on an adventure. Her curiosity is so deep it could put her in deep danger. Read the amazing novel to see what happens to Ruby this time! Recommended for 8+

I loved this book, it is fun and exciting. My favourite character is Ruby as she is super smart. I chose this book as it is funny but scary. I would recommend this book to people who like adventure stories.

This book is for children ages 10-15. This book is so good and also has a good adventure in it to. Read it so that you know How much I enjoyed reading it as I am sure you will enjoy it as much as I have. Make sure you read the first one as well! The series are as awesome as this book!

This is a great book full of action and drama. Ruby is on a mission with a top secret agency with a fellow secret agent pretending to a butler aka Hitch. Unfortunately she is almost eaten by a monster, meets her old enemy and has herself thinking that her parents have died. But it all turns out well otherwise i wouldn't have told you that information! A great for ages 10 - 13

The perfect book for me. I adore the incredible use of words Lauren uses to create a world of excitement and danger. Although this book made me see the real dangers in life, it was a joy to read. A thrilling, spine-tingling novel- congratulations to Lauren Child on becoming the new Children's Laureate!
