Cyril and Pat is a very funny, rhyming story about friendship from everybody’s favourite picture book creator and twice winner of the CILIP Kate Greenaway Medal, Emily Gravett.

Cyril is the only squirrel in Lake Park, and he’s very lonely. Until one day he meets Pat – Pat the big, grey . . . other squirrel. Cyril and Pat have lots of adventures and fun together and Cyril is so pleased he’s made a friend. But everyone is adamant that Cyril and Pat simply cannot be friends, and they soon reveal why: Pat, as the reader has known all along, is actually a RAT!
But Cyril’s life turns out to be a lot duller and quite a bit scarier without Pat by his side, and in the end the two friends learn that some things are more important than being the same, or listening to others.

This book is funny. It is fiction and my favourite character is Cyril. I like the bits where they are chasing.

This book was good to read. I enjoyed this book because I like animals. I would recommend it to my Bobby because I think he would like this book because he likes animals too.

This book was fictional. My favorite character is Cyril because when he found out his friend wasn't what he thought he was he didn't just abandon him. He stayed with him as a true friend which I find very respectful. Definitely recommend this book!

Liked how the squirrel made friends with a rat even though everyone else in the story did not like him. Knowing that it is ok to make friends with someone who is different and that you can rely on their friendship.

Pat was my favourite character, the best part was when Pat and all the other rats jumped out to protect Cyril from the mean dog.
