Enter a world of wonder with this heartfelt Christmas classic from bestselling children’s author Ben Miller.
Jackson knows all about the flying reindeer, he knows about the elves and the secret North Pole workshop, he knows about the magic that allows Father Christmas to deliver presents around the world in just one night, but there’s one thing he doesn’t know . . . how did Father Christmas become Father Christmas?
That all changes when, one Christmas Eve, Jackson meets Father Christmas and hears his incredible story.
So begins an enchanting fairy-tale into a magical snowy landscape, where Torvil, a mean-spirited and miserly elf, is about to discover the true meaning of Christmas. This might not have been the story Jackson was expecting but, as Father Christmas tells him, no good story ever is…
With beautiful illustrations throughout from Daniela Jaglenka Terrazzini and warm, funny words from Ben Miller, this book will remind everyone of the true spirit of Christmas and prove once and for all that Father Christmas really does exist!

It was pretty funny, but I learnt to put others before yourself. I liked Torvil because he was mean and he became nice. It Interested me because Torvil learnt a valuable lesson. I would recommend this book to my friends and family.

Interesting. Everything seemed a bit random at first but in the end everything linked up and you could understand what was happening a lot better. There are better books but I still enjoyed it.

This book is amazing! I read it quite awhile ago and so I can’t remember a bit of it. It explains a lot and the bits about Tourville are so cool to know how he became Father Christmas! I rate it5/5

I loved this Christmas book! Jackson stays awake on Christmas Eve hoping to meet Father Christmas. But when he does Father Christmas has a story to tell Jackson a story about how he became the world’s toy man. This book is full of magic, a perfect Christmas tale for all ages!! My favourite characters were of course Father Christmas, Jackson and Santa’s reindeer. I recommend this book to people wanting to read something magical this Christmas

Another Ben Miller classic. It is amazing how you see Torvil's life story in one night. Jackson has a friend that doesn't believe in father Christmas. Jackson is outraged at this. Kids age 9-15 will love this book all year round.

I really like it because the words aren't too small and its really good for people who believe in Father Christmas. My favourite character was called Gerda because she is Mrs Christmas and she is really kind. I recommend this book.

I enjoyed this book and I would recommend it to anyone that likes long stories.(Like Me!!!)It was all about Father Christmas spraining his ankle and a little boy has to help him.The story was about a rich man elf called Torvil and it is all about his life...It’s all very queer and I think YOU should be the next person to read it.

I really really like Christmas and I would like to go to the North Pole to meet Santa and to be one of his elves. This book made me laugh and sometimes it made me feel a bit sad. But it had a happy ending which I was pleased about
