Margaret Ryan
Guess who lives at number 13… Jonny Smith’s paper round takes him along Weir Street. The paper boys don’t normally stick around for long and he soon understands why… Who is the strange figure standing in the window of number 13? Is that a parrot on his shoulder? Jonny decides to investigate.
Reviews

Jonny heard that people in weir (d) street were very weird. When he knocked on the door of number 31, he saw a pirate with a hook in one hand. His name was Captain Cross-Eyed. Jonny pulled a hook that was on the end of Captain Cross-Eye's arm. Then Captain Cross-Eye's hand slid out. Then Jonny realized if he stayed there long, he will arrive late to school. But he arrived late to school again and Ms Dodds was angry with him: again. But Ms Dodds didn’t believe that there was a pirate in number 31 and told him to write the whole story at break. So the next day he took his phone to take a photo of the pirate and show it to everyone so everyone could believe it. But when he arrived at school, his phone rang. When he was switching it off, Ms Dodds saw him and took his phone away. The next morning when Jonny, Ellie and Brutus were going for a walk, Jonny decided to go to weir (d) street so at least Ellie could believe in Captain Cross-Eyed. When Ellie saw him, she pointed out and said, ‘Pi’. I don’t have time to tell you about the rest of the story. I will recommend it to someone else.
