'Can all animals talk?' Jack asked. 'Well, of course they can,' said Boadicea the Shetland Pony. 'We're not idiots, you know.' ---------- Jack is a very small and bendy boy. So small and bendy, that he can hide inside his own school bag! Other than bending and hiding, his favourite thing to do is to go to Old Mr Mudge's junkyard and ride the horses, Lightning and Boadicea. It's definitely better than going home to his drippy Aunt Violet, smelly Uncle Ted and evil cousin Kelly. But when he (accidentally) runs away, he finds himself on an adventure to free his mum from prison- with the help of a lot of talking animals! Filled with excitement, fun and far too much horse poo, this is the hilarious new story from national treasure Ade Edmondson, author of Tilly and the Time Machine.

I liked this book because it was all about a talking horse and i love horses. My favourite characters were the horses Boadicea and Lightning Bolt and i can just imagine myself having a talking horse which i think would be amazing. It thought it was a really good book as it used lots of imaginative ideas that really helped to paint a picture of the story. I would definitely recommend this book to anybody that likes horses.

I liked Boudicca best because she actually talked! I didn’t like the bit where Jack’s mum got put in prison and Mrs Scrimshank actually did it

There was a horse that could talk. Boudicca was her name. Jack sneaked out of his house and went to the junkyard. It wasn’t really his house. His mum got put in prison. There were lots of talking animals in it. I liked when they rescued the mum.

The book starts off quite sad but by the end I was laughing my head off! My favourite character is Bouddicea, she is a fat shetland pony that can talk! I would recommend this book to over 6's.
