The Wild Robot Escapes (The Wild Robot 2)
Peter Brown
The enchanting illustrated sequel to the #1 New York Times bestselling THE WILD ROBOT, by award-winning author-illustrator Peter Brown Roz is no ordinary robot. After being washed up on the shore of a remote and wild island, she learned to adapt and make it her home, befriend its animal inhabitants and even adopt a small orphaned gosling, Brightbill. But a new life is now beginning for Roz - she has been taken away, far away from her island, back to civilisation. Where she must pretend that she is a robot like any other - there to follow orders and to carry out tasks on the farm where she now works. She knows she must never let anyone find out who she really is. And more than anything, she must find a way to escape, back to the island and her beloved Brightbill - a journey that will be fraught with danger and drama, and some very unexpected surprises ... In my opinion, this was a great book. I liked what happened in Chapters 83 to 84 (it makes more sense if you read Chapters 78 to 82 before). I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in robots, animals and/or adventure.

This book is about a robot on an island. Just kidding, we’re not doing a short review. This robot was on an island that I’m not going into further detail on - go and watch the movie. So, she’s now in a truck, going to Hilltop Farm. A farm with a man and two kids; their mother died. They needed a robot to do the farm work. The robot couldn’t tell any of them about her life on the island, or else she’ll be sent back to the factory to be destroyed. This book has action, emotional scenes, violence and is heartwarming at the same time. PS- The robot’s name is Roz.

I really loved this book. It was a heartwarming adventure story about a robot. He had adopted a baby goose but had been taken away by the evil RECO robots.

Didn’t love it quite as much as The Wild Robot but still a lovely continuation of the stories of Roz and Brightbill with some new characters added in too.

I thought this book was brilliant, because it changed from a farm with lots of nature to a city with loads of robots and people. It showed Roz's journey, in a way. My favourite characters were Roz and Brightbill, because they had a really close relationship and it showed how much they loved and cared for one another. My favourite parts were the reunion and when Jaya and Jad tried to take out Roz's Transmitter, because I found it funny how they argued with each other about taking out too many tubes and boxes. I thought they were very resilient, because they kept doing things wrong and then in the end they managed to get it right. I think it was also because they were desperate to help Roz. It was also funny when they said, "Roz, we order you to escape." I recommend this book for 8, 9 or 10 year old people, because it is about a robot trying to escape and some bits may seem violent to younger children. I also liked when Brightbill didn't recognise his mother and he quizzed her all about their life together, before he finally decided that she was his mother. I think it was quite interesting when Roz met her designer and then they hugged near the end. I enjoyed The Epilogue too, because it brought you right back to where the whole adventure started, like a beginning.
