Brilliantly funny new young series about the bravest scaredy-cat in the world

Sam Wu is NOT a scaredy-cat (except when he is). And when a shark TOTALLY tries to eat him at the local aquarium, he decides he’s not going to take any more chances. So at his friend’s birthday party at the beach, Sam refuses to dip even a toe in the water. Nothing could go wrong now, could it? A wonderful belly-laugh of a book, perfect for young fans of Tom Gates and Pamela Butchart. ‘Intensely likeable and sharply observed comic capers’ – Guardian Illustrated fiction is still having something of a boom, but if you’re looking for a non-white protagonist it’s slim pickings indeed. Happily Sam Wu is about to change all that. A hero of Asian heritage with a diverse set of friends… it’s enormous fun, madcap and relatable – Bookseller Also look out for Sam is NOT Afraid of Ghosts and Sam Wu is NOT Afraid of the Dark! Katie and Kevin Tsang met in in 2008 while studying at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Since then they have lived on three different continents and travelled to over 40 countries together. Kevin was born in Copenhagen and grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. Some of Sam Wu’s experiences are based on Kevin’s childhood. Katie was born and raised in Southern California. She has previously worked at Booktrust and also writes YA as Katherine Webber.

HI, This book is fictional and my favourite character is Sam because he has all these unique ideas and in this story Sam and his best friend (Bernard and Zoe) are invited to Ralph and Regina's birthday party! I would recommend this book to others!

It is fiction, an adventure story of Sam Wu and his friends trying to master their skills of fighting sharks off. I liked how they rescued the old man from a shark (although it wasn’t a shark), using the Aztec’s technique . I would recommend this book.

I liked sam wu more than anyone because he is the protagonist of the story. He is very funny. He is actually afraid of sharks but tries to prevent everyone from knowing that he is actually afraid of sharks. Because his nemesis, Ralph Zinkerman the third always calls him 'Sam Wu Ser' which rhymes with 'loser'

I quite liked this book, especially because Sam is always sure that he is not afraid. It was really funny when they got into the local swimming pool and they thought there was a shark in there. My favourite character was Zoe because she was always trying to be positive about it.

tips on when to read this book: some of you might find it teadeaous to read it beacuse it is quite boring in the book at some part espcially if you can get bored easily or if you read it really early in the moring or late in the evening because either your too tired beacause you've been through a lot that day or you've just woken up and and is half blind so read it in the afternoon but not too late in the afternoon. Whole party at the beach was really fun so i would like to go if i could. and also the way sam kept mentioning space blaster in everything made it more interesting but boring if you read many books of him and don't really have much intrest in space blasters.

I thought that is an adventure book where Sam Wu jumps in the sea where there is a shark fin! Sam sees an old man in the water and so he tries to save him but then the shark fin is not really what it is … I thought this book was so funny Age recommend 7 plus

The book is exciting but sometimes boring because it was actually a dolphin rather than a shark. The previous book was better because the snake is scarier than a dolphin.
