It's a very interesting book and mysterious as well. I also thought Alice was the one causing the shades and controlling the adults but I was surprised when I realised it wasn't Alice... I WOULD RECOMMEND this book 100%!!!

I love the fact that are four girls that are best friends. One of the girls is very sporty and she is into Essie, the newest girl in the school, but Essie is very mean to Mia just because she doesn’t want to be her best friend.

In this book there were plants dieing in Westcombe because somebody was using plant magic to conjure Shades, evil spirits, who then went to whisper in someone's ear to make them stop at no ends to win something.

This book was fictional and the character I liked the best was Maia because she was always humble to everyone and all her friends. I especially enjoyed this book as there were many mysterious parts of the book when her star animals leads her to an awesome adventure. I would recommend this book for all ages because everyone will enjoy this book. I would especially recommend this book to people who love magic and believe in magic just like Maia does in the story! Many people just take a look at a book and automatically get drawn to the cover but everyone knows the saying "Don't judge a book by it's cover." This book may not have the most detailed and eye- drawing illustration however the book captures all of this. Overall, I extremely recommend this book for everyone to read and i hope you all enjoy this book as much as I did!!

I liked Mia the best because she had powers to see the future and past and things happening right this minute. It interested me how they were all star friends and that they have star animals each . Also that they can command shades to go back to the place they came from.

I liked most Maya, because she stands up for herself and never gives up. Also, I liked her pet. I didn't liked bullies at her school.
