When Will accidentally creates a mysterious portal during a trip to the zoo, he's transported into the world of the Night Zoo, and thrust into an incredible adventure. Joined by his friends, Sam and Riya, Will journeys to Fire Desert, where rumours of a creature called 'the Grip' have struck fear into the hearts of the animals. Even Captain Claw, a fierce lioness, seems to be acting strangely on hearing the news. The animals look to Will to save them, but does he have the strength to overcome his fears, and become the hero that the Night Zoo needs?

This was a great book. I liked the adventures. I think it was better than the first book because it had all the same characters plus a few new ones. Yes I would recommend it.

I thought this was an excellent book because they had a very good adventure. It was the follow up book from the Giraffes of the Whispering Wood and I liked reading about the same characters and meeting new ones. Yes I would recommend it

This is even better than the Whispering Wood, I love Claw. My favourite part was when they were desperately trying to get the seaplane to start to escape the void

Very creative, i liked that a lion could fly a plane. The illustration was great. I Liked the front cover, very magical and i liked the coloures used. My favourite character is Sam, very funny. I also like the girraffe and the night zoo keeper, Will and Riya.

I like this book because it’s full of twists and turns, I like it when Sam the spying giraffe has to use his invisibility skills to hear what the lion is saying, he thinks she’s summoning the grip (known as a void) and wants to fight it but will isn’t sure if he should trust her!
