’Has everything I like: humour, action, great characters and awesome mythology!’ Rick Riordan, bestselling author of Percy Jackson ‘A new star is born.’ Eoin Colfer, bestselling author of Artemis Fowl The first book in an exciting AND funny adventure series. Twelve-year-old Aru Shah has a tendency to stretch the truth in order to fit in at school. Whilst her classmates are jetting off to exotic locales, she’ll be at home, in the Museum of Ancient Indian Art and Culture where her mother works. Is it any wonder that Aru makes up stories about being royalty, traveling to Paris, and having a chauffeur? When Aru’s schoolmates dare her to prove that the museum’s Lamp of Bharata is cursed, she doesn’t think there’s any harm in lighting it. Little does Aru know that lighting the lamp has dire consequences. She unwittingly frees the Sleeper, an ancient demon whose duty it is to awaken the God of Destruction. Her classmates and beloved mother are frozen in time, and, accompanied by a wise-cracking pigeon and her long-lost half-sister, it’s up to Aru to save them. Pacy, page-turning storytelling charming, funny writing relatable characters to root for a diverse, original feel to the set-up – drawing inspiration from Hindu gods   Praise for Aru Shah and the End of Time: ""The characters and gods that make up Chokshi’s world are hilarious … The empowerment that Chokshi places in her two main characters of Aru and Mini, tells readers that girls are strong and fierce and not to be underestimated."" Bill Gowsell, Laughing Place ""Chokshi weaves an engrossing adventure that will leave readers anticipating the next installment."" Publishers Weekly

A fictional book. I liked Aru Shah because having done something wrong, she did all she could to make up for it and make the world normal. An interesting read.

It was an amazing book and a fun twist on Hindu mythology. It was a twist on the Percy Jackson books with Hindu mythology instead.

This was and adventorous and exciting book. I liked both Aru and Mini who were both funny and fantastic on the quest to stop the sleeper. It had lots of stories about hindu gods which I have never heard of so it was interesting.

I loved this book as it is the first book of the series and it is very descriptive. My favourite character would be Boo[a pigeon] because he is very mean even though he is soft inside.

In this book my favourite character was a girl named Aru who’s mum is Hindu and work’s in a museum. Aru lights a cursed lamp and time freezes and she has to fix things with the help of a pigeon and her long lost half sister. I would recommend this book to people who like adventure books and like books with humour and Hindu mythology.

I thought it was a great book! It was exciting and had lots of different and fun things. Loved it! I actually had two fav characters, Minnie and Aru. I'd definitely recommend it if you love to learn about different religions! You can also do lots of research as well. Aru Shah is based on Hindu mythology. Read it! It is very interesting!

I thought it was very well written and had a good range of adjectives. Some bits were very funny and some bits were very scary. I would recommend it

I really liked it a lot and I would definitely recommend it to a lot of my friends. The storytelling was neat how it slowly unravelled. The character I liked best was Aru Sha especially when she gets the piece of paper and reads it to Poppy, Burton, and Arielle with some of their deepest secrets.
