Discover the extraordinary lives of the inspiring girls who have lived throughout history at 6 Chelsea Walk. Polly longs to become an explorer. But in 1914, women's rights and choices are limited - something twelve-year-old Polly learns when she befriends her new neighbours: two suffragettes, fighting for women's rights to vote. Polly's parents are appalled, but Polly is intrigued. And the more she thinks about their cause, the more determined she becomes to join the suffragettes' protest march. But will Polly dare to defy her parents and do what she thinks is right? A gripping story of courage, friendship and speaking up during a time of change, from Carnegie-shortlisted author, Linda Newbery.

I liked this book although I found it hard sometimes to understand what was going on in the book. It was fiction and my favourite character was Edwina. I would recommend it to someone that likes history and a non fiction but fiction taste in books.

This book was very good, it was no the best book i have ever read. The only reason it is not getting 5 stars is because I felt like this topic is slightly more grown up but the langue and story line didn't reflect that. Other than that it was a really good read.

I like how Polly tried to stand up for what she thought was right. My favourite character was Edwina, because she was really brave to speak in the box in front of all the suffragettes and suffragists, when she knew she’d get arrested and taken back to prison because of the Cat and Mouse act. I would recommend it to anyone who likes the suffragettes.

This book was AWESOME!! It was set in 1917, when women raged for votes. I loved reading about the amazing (and weird) things some women did to get votes!! #girlpower!!
