I think this book is a festive story all about customs and traditions that every house follows on specific festive days, because Olaf [the alive snowman] is curious and in search of a tradition that they could follow as a family every year but it comes out that they have no tradition so they find other peoples traditions for christmas and later they come to know that he himself [Olaf] was the tradition in their family. I would recommend this book to all in search for new traditions.
