The hotly-anticipated next novel from NUMBER ONE bestselling author, David Walliams
Reviews

Really good book by david walliams and it's a very thick book, so anyone who like thick books will love this book it has four hundred and sixty pages a very thick book and the words aren't that small but they're quite small. It's got a lot of pictures. And no mistakes, it's very good for people because it tells you the consequences of bad things, and the good consequences of good things and it tells you why you should not do bad, you ll love it

I just loved this book. Seriously it is a book for anyone to read. The blurb made it inspiring. For anyone who wants to know a quick preview I made one myself. It starts like this "In the second world war grandpa was a superb flying ace.when grandpa is sent to Twilight Towers ( home for old people) it is up to grandpa and his grandson to plot a daring escape. But little do they know the wicked matron Miss Swine is on to them... My quote to David Williams is " I absolutely love his books. You sometimes just get sucked up into them. I read about 1 book in a day! Sometimes I get inspired to write a book myself. I sometimes do think how David Williams wrote incredible books like this one.Anyway,I recommend this book to anyone.

This was the best book ever! It was exciting, amazing, thrilling, and adventurous all in one. Just like all the David Walliams books I've read, I couldn't put it down! I liked the twist when Grandpa flew in Spitfire over Jack's bedroom window. I would recommend this book to everyone in the whole universe! (Including aliens.)

I found it funny when Grandpa thought it was a good idea to dig his way out of twilight towers using a spoon. I would recommend it to anyone who likes funny stories or likes the army.

Grandpa's Great Escape is a really exciting book by the one and only David Walliams, as you go 37 years into the past (1983) and meet Grandpa (or as he calls himself, 'Wing Commander Bunting'... more on that name later) and Jack Bunting (Grandson of Grandpa, or as Grandpa calls him, 'Squadron Leader'...), as they go on an epic adventure. Now you have to know that Grandpa thinks that he's still in World War 2, when he was given the rank 'Wing Commander' in the RAF (Royal Air Force), driving his beloved Spitfire, and he goes a bit too bonkers sometimes. Whenever he does, Jack's mother always says that Grandpa needs to go to an old folks home. But when Grandpa goes missing for a week, it is decided that enough is enough. When Jack and his class go on a school trip to the Imperial war museum in London, he notices something fishy. There's snoring coming from inside the Spitfire model! Jack decides that he needs to investigate who is in the warplane. When Miss Verity (the History teacher) isn't looking, Jack climbs onto the Spitfire and peeks in. It's Grandpa! Unfortunately, he's sent to an old folks home called Twilight Towers... which isn't very twilight, in fact A.B.S.O.L.U.T.E.L.Y the opposite of twilight, Evil... but will they be able to escape the sinister Matron called Miss Swine?

Many years ago Grandpa was a World War II flying ace. But when he is sent to old folk's home Twilight Towers - run by sinister Matron Swine - it's up to Grandpa and his grandson, Jack, to plot a daring escape. Little do they know, the wicked Matron is on to them...

It was an excellent book to read and I really enjoyed the part when Jack and his Grandpa saved everyone from Twilight towers and Miss Swine ( or rather Reverend Hog).

with emotional endings and comical chapters, this book would definitely make it to my top 5 books. Jack's grandad, who was a royal air force piolet, is off on a spectacular journey to escape the spine-chilling care home; Twilight Towers. I recommend this book to children you love a humorous adventure story.
