This book is about two completely different sisters. The eldest one is called Melissa and she is very girly and she loves make-up, pink and black. The youngest one is called Martina but she likes being called Marty. She is a tomboy who loves her toy animals that she created with old socks and pillowcases. Marty hates girly things. They always argue about the slightest of things and they are arch-enemies. Things change when Mum gets a new job of making dresses and she needs a spare room.
