Spectre Collectors: Too Ghoul For School
Barry Hutchison, Rob Biddulph
Denzel is having no luck with his maths homework. First, it’s too difficult, then there’s a terrifying mess of smoky black tendrils that wants to kill him, then two teenagers explode through his window holding guns and throwing magic. They are the Spectre Collectors, and spooky is their speciality. Realising that Denzel has a special gift, they sweep him off to their headquarters for training. Tested with awesome weapons and ancient magic, Denzel realises just how little he knows. But there’s a serious problem on its way from the Spectral Realm, so Denzel has a lot to learn. FAST.
For readers who like their funny stories to be just a little bit spooky too…

Reviews

I really liked it. It’s really funny and a bit scary at the same time. Daniel is the funniest because he’s always wetting himself!

I liked that it was about ghosts. I didn’t like the guns. My favourite part was when they went to the spectre collectors place.

I liked that the edges of the pages were coloured green to make it look more ghost like! I liked the bit when I found out that the boy's best friend was a ghost - he'd been a ghost for hundreds of years and hadn't mentioned it!

I liked Smithy the best because he was funny. I liked this ook because it was an adventure/comedy book.

I actually read the ‘New York Nightmare’ book in the series. I really liked it, my favourite part was when King Kong ran over towards the ‘spike’ dragging ragnarok a character behind him
General Pirate Lavalamp 20.08.2020

I liked Smithy because he’s a poltergeist and can go through walls whenever he wants. This was a slightly spooky adventure story.
Viscount Snoopy Toothpaste 11.08.2020

A bit sad at the end, but the rest was really funny. I look forward to the next adventure in this series.
Corporal Gargoyle Armchair 30.07.2020

I enjoyed visualising the exiting ghost attacks that happen to Denzel. As we move to the end of the book we find out that director Quinn is going to get rid of all ghosts so she does not have to keep capturing them
