Jake Bakes a Monster Cake
Lucy Rowland, Mark Chambers
Jake is baking a birthday cake for his best friend Sam. But his sweet treat turns monstrous when his friends help out: spider legs, rotten eggs, slugs and slime are definitely not in Jake’s recipe book! Sam could be in for a very smelly surprise!
From the brilliant author and illustrator team behind Pirate Pete and His Smelly Feet, Lucy Rowland and Mark Chambers, the bright, bold illustrations bring life to the brilliantly funny rhyming story.

I liked this story because of all the ingredients they used in the cake. I don't think I'll be trying a cake like it any time soon though! Very colourful pictures too!

Elliott liked it when the monsters added the worms to the cake, he thought this was funny. But Elliott definitely didn’t want to try this cake!

I wouldn’t like slug and slime in my cake but it was good to see friends trying to make each other happy.
Inspector Geronimo Jumpsuit 08.08.2021

My favourite character is tilly because she was late and added a stinky, old cheese that was covered in mould and she thought that the maggots were extra nutrition.
