Adventure, magical other dimensions, dead grandfathers: this book has it all… Thomas turns a typical plot into something extraordinary and highly absorbing for children and adults alike. This will be a world they’ll come back to time and time again- as will I!

It was a great book, and I’d recommend it for 9-12 year olds. My favourite characters are Lexy and Effie because they are both clever and brave. However this book was a bit confusing.
