I would recommend the Animal Rescue series of fictional books to all animal loving readers. In this story Eva rescues Barney the baby hedgehog from a local farm because he got lost and his mother couldn't be found anywhere. Due to the building work going on at High Trees Farm the poor family of baby hedgehogs got confused when their normal night-time run was blocked by concrete. Whilst Eva and the team at Animal Rescue look after Barney, Eva decides to camp out with a friend to see if any other hedgehogs are lost/homeless as well. With the help of everyone at Animal Rescue and the permission of the farmer, they all help to build a safe area for the hedgehogs to run which is fenced off from the new building site. Once the new hedgehog run is complete a nest box is built and the family of hedgehogs are safely returned to the wild. I absolutely loved how the hedgehogs were so well looked after by the team at Animal Rescue.

It is a very cute fiction story about a baby hedgehog that gets lost from his family in a farm and some children look after him.

Look out hedgehogs! This is a fiction book but tells you when building something look out for hedgehog runs. This is a great book to read.

I like this book because she finds a hedgehog in a garden and she wants to help it. They name him Barney because they find him in a barn. Eva wonders if there are any brothers and sisters there so they camp out and find 3 more.
