Real Friends
Shannon Hale
Following little Shannon’s life from kindergarten through fifth grade, Real Friends captures the emotional roller coaster ride of friendship, from navigating the tricky waters of cliques and bullies to her never-ending struggle to stay in ‘The Group.’ Shannon’s honest and heartfelt story reminds us of how hard it was to learn what real friends are – and why finding them is worth the journey.
Reviews

I love this book my favorite character is Jen and my favorite part was, when Shannon Hale get to be friends with year 6 people. This book inspired me to write my own book about my life. It also inspired me to be more brave to share my feelings and thoughts to friends and others, that I feel comfortable with. I would recommend it to everyone.

This book is about girls' low grade friendships. In this book, Shannon is betrayd from others. No-one hears her voice. Except her family, and her best friend, Adrian. In school, she tries hard to make friends, but everyone don't hear. I think this is outcasting. This book is fun, but it gives us very many themes and messages from the author. And it gives big hopes. I think this was author's purpose. Give her message to other people that as same as Shannon in school. We need to care all friends together. And we should love each other everytime. I wanted to recommend this book in straight. Because I could relieve her feelings in the story because I had that in 3,4th grade. I wanted to cheer my friends, too.

This book was based on a true story and everything that happened in it had happened to the author in real life My favourite character was Jen because unlike Adrianne she came back to Sharron when she needed a friend most I enjoyed this book because it shows what friends are for and when you need them most

This graphic novel, with drawings by LeUyen Pham, is an autobiography by Shannon Hale. The book is about how she coped with being bullied in her school and how she came over it and met many friends. [spoiler alert!] What I liked best about it was how at the end the most popular girl in school asks Shannon to be in *her* group!
