Flour Babies
Anne Fine
Flour Babies by Anne Fine, won the Carnegie Medal and the Whitbread Children’s Book Award in 1992. When the annual school science fair comes round, Mr Cartwright’s class don’t get to work on the Soap Factory, the Maggot Farm or the Exploding Custard Tins. To their intense disgust they get the Flour Babies – sweet little six-pound bags of flour that must be cared for at all times.
Funny and poignant, Flour Babies is a brilliant depiction of secondary school life.

I really loved this book. If you want a book that is really funny I would definitely recommend reading this book and I would love to see what you think about it

I found this book interesting as I love the way Anne Fine made the reader think that it was a bag of flour, then a baby, and then a bag of flour again! I was really surprised that I enjoyed it as I got this book as a set of classics so I wasn't sure if I would enjoy it- but it turns out I was wrong! I didn't really like the characters as they were mean. Simon Martin changed and I think it was a good change so he had the responsibility. My favourite character was Martin Simon as he is clever. Also, I personally think the author ran out of names as lots of people had the like Simon or Simmons in their name. I would really recommend this book to people who love football, school, and sacks of flour!

I liked it when Simon Martin was kicking the flour babies.

I think ever since Simon had his flour baby he grew more caring untill the end. I think Simon was my most fravorite character because he finally understood more about the future and I would recommend it to someone who does not know what the future hold’s.

I have no favourite character and it’s too boring I didn’t like it at all.

This book wasn’t that bad but I would recommend it because I think it’s quite funny and interesting

It was good. The book was about a boy and he wanted his class to do flour babies as there topic for the science fair. In the end they did but the class then got angry at him because he said they were aloud to break the flour babies and they couldn't in the end.
