Fly Me Home
Polly Ho-Yen
Feeling lost and alone in a strange new city, Leelu wishes she could fly away back home – her real home where her dad is, thousands of miles away.
London is cold and grey and the neighbours are noisy and there’s concrete everywhere.
But Leelu is not alone; someone is leaving her gifts outside her house – wonders which give her curious magical powers.
Powers which might help her find her way home . . .
Fly Me Home is an incredibly moving portrait of one family’s struggle to adjust to life in a new country. Full of friendship, family and magic, this stunning novel by Polly Ho-Yen, author of Boy in the Tower (shortlisted for the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize and the Blue Peter Book Award) and Where Monsters Lie, is a must-read for 9-12 readers.

I absolutely loved this book and I couldn't put it down. I didn't think I'd like but I started reading it and decided I did. Leelu moves to london from another country (country name not mentioned) without her Dad and someone is leaving special gifts for her. At the end, I found it really different to what I imagined.

This book is about a girl who has to move away from her home country and her father with her brother and mum. She meets an old man who gives her special little powers and makes a friend too! This book was a cliffhanger, I just wanted to find out what would happen to the girl.

It is brilliant but Leelu is the best of the best. Leelu is kind clever brave and has a little friend of whom she has not met yet. When Leelu meets the wonderful stranger leaving her wonders she is delighted but can she help them fly away home.
