When Pugly hears that Big Sal the guinea pig has been GUINEA PIG-NAPPED he knows it’s time for him to become a PUG-TECTIVE! Is GLITTERPUFF the fancy poodle, or TINY the dramatic chihuahua behind the crime? Maybe it’s Big Sal HIMSELF! Time for Pugly to put on his special DETECTIVE HAT and join forces with Clem the cat to find clues, interview suspects, and have a stake-out with real STEAK. Watch out criminals, Pugly is on the case!

Pugly Solves a Crime is the second in the laugh-out-loud series about a very adventurous pug, written by Pamela Butchart, winner of the Blue Peter Best Story Award and the Children’s Book Award. The hilarious illustrations are by Gemma Correll and the books are perfect early readers.

I liked all of it. It was funny because the hat looks funny. I would recommend this to other people.

The book I read was a non fiction book and my favourite character was Chester because he was he/she kept going on about his/her hair and it was really cool when he/she came and saved the day on a skateboard. The bit that intrested me was when the poodle was caught going out late at night in a black cloak. I would recomend this book to my friends.

I loved this book because I liked that they solved a mystery and this is something I enjoy. I thought the characters were great and very funny.

Pugly decides to solve the mystery of the missing Guinea pig. However, as ever, he isn't really very good at it and needs the help of Clem the cat. This book has some wonderful pug cartoon pictures too.
